Married with three children, Pat had a ‘proper’ job until 1992 when she took up watercolour. Although now painting in various mediums, she relishes the challenge of the unpredictability of watercolour along with the opportunities to experiment with colour and transparency. She is fascinated with forms and patterns and is increasingly drawn to abstraction. Pat’s early influences include Liberty, William Morris, and Peter Foulkes, a Hampshire artist whose progress she has followed since living there until 1963. She later admired Braque, Picasso and Marc, Georgia O’Keefe, Evan Uglow and John Piper. Pat is also a member of the USWA and is Past President of the Arts Society of Ulster. She exhibits regularly in group exhibitions including the Laing Final, Mall Gallery, RUA, RHA, Milltown Gallery and Malone Gallery.
